Calcium EDTA for IM injection to treat heavy metal poisoning in caged and aviary birds.
Calcium EDTA injection is used at the rate of 35 – 45 mg/Kg body weight once daily for 5 days.
May be diluted with saline prior to use.
Concentration of calcium EDTA is 100 mg/ml of injection – therefore amount injected is 0.35 – 0.45 mL per Kg of bird.
Alternate injection sites between injections to prevent tissue irritation.
